When creativity strikes - say yes!

When Creativity Strikes – Say Yes!

By Julia Wiklander

Creativity is a given part of the entrepreneurial journey. You have to navigate new territory, create new products or services and communicate new opportunities. It’s all about being ambitiously creative.

However, it may be easier said than done.

Do you allow yourself the freedom to think big? Do you create the things you feel inspired to make? Do you listen when creativity strikes?

The biggest thing that will allow creativity to flow is to say YES.

Saying yes means allowing yourself to think big and to create in full freedom.

This may seem like a no-brainer – but, it really isn’t.

There are often so many things blocking our ability to fully allow ourselves to say yes to creativity.

Perhaps you’re comparing yourself to others or talking yourself down. Or maybe your limiting beliefs are holding your creativity back. Maybe you’re just “too busy” to be creative, and won’t allow yourself the time you need to actually create. Or you’re “just” afraid.

The thing is – when you actually tune in to your innate desire to create – amazing things can happen.

It’s about stepping into your own big potential – and allowing yourself to serve others with your creativity.

As a conscious entrepreneur you create to help others or make them happy. It’s about finding solutions to problems, and making the world a better and more beautiful place.

So, will you truly say YES to your creative self?

When you do – others will notice. You’ll turn on a bright light within you that will be noticeable for others – and it will benefit your business.

When you allow creativity to flow in all areas of your business, you will:

  • tap into your uniqueness that makes your business truly stand out
  • more easily attract your ideal clients or customers
  • find joy and ease in your business — allowing your business to grow with flow

3 ways to build your business with your full creative capacity.

1. Gain awareness of what matters most to you.

When you’re aligned with your passions and the things that truly matter to you, you can more easily fuel creativity in your business. When things are tough, boring and uninspiring – you will feel that way too. That’s why it’s important to continue to keep yourself attuned to your highest values, principles and passions.

Spend time writing in your journal and explore the things that matter most to you. Set reminders of them in your daily life, to keep your energy high and passions alive.

2. Block your time for creative expression.

If you don’t plan time for creativity, you won’t be creative. It’s not something that will strike out of the blue (like the title of this post may suggest). Instead, it’s something that grows as you create. You need to start using your creativity to foster creative expression as a behavior in your life and business.

For a conscious entrepreneur, creativity isn’t just an extra spice – it should be the essence of your business. This is true whether you’re creating amazing meals and a great ambiance for your customers, or you’re producing digital content and providing support to your clients.

When you schedule time to create, you’ll prove to yourself that your creativity is a priority. You’ll begin to value your time and your creativity differently.

3. Invest in your skills, mindset and personal development.

The things that have made me the most creative in my business is after I’ve invested in myself. When I’ve taken time to learn and grow, I’ve found new channels of creativity within me that are inspired by my growth.

When you grow and define your business by what matters most, you gain new avenues for your creativity to flourish. Whether you develop your skill set or your mindset – you’ll see that your creativity can grow in ways it couldn’t before you invested in yourself.

As a conscious entrepreneur, learning should be an essential part of your journey, to continuously support your clients and customers in the best possible way.

It’s also about showing yourself that you are a priority and that your own development matters. When you’ve decided to take the entrepreneurial route – it’s up to you to decide that you are important. And YOU ARE. You are the only one who will make sure that you’re developing and constantly growing in your professional capacity. So make sure you’re investing in yourself.

We don’t ever stand still. We either grow or we stagnate. Time keeps moving.
